burnt my porridge, but still yummy August 22, 2009

So I cooked porridge last night, and it burnt slightly on the bottom. This morning, I decided to finish it off and reheated it in the same burnt container. Erm, it burnt even more and now, my kitchen smells of burnt ashes. Maybe not ashes, but you get my drift.

Today my leader’s graduating, from his bachelor degree. Finally. And next year, another graduation, but yes, today he’s graduating. So congrats Scott Lim, love you heaps(:

I was sick a couple of days ago from being stuck in the rain, but its almost completely gone now! Just random sneezes and the occasional blowing of my nose. I actually like sneezing, the feeling of anticipation, and then you sneeze and it feels a lot better. Now don’t you think so?

I didn’t sleep last night. Couldn’t sleep. I kept tossing and turning.

Hello love,

How’s your week been? I hope its been going good with lots of laughter, surprises, sadness, anger and happiness.

My week has been absolute madness what with what I count as really big decisions and many more to come. Unfortunately. Sunday was one of my most tiring days. It was good though, I made a bunch of new friends, had free doughnuts and now, I qualify to get a new pair of jeans, or at least that gorgeous scarf. Anything I want from Myers really. After all, I did score a $50 Myers gift card from standing in the rain. Plus a free doughnut and a free lunch from Union House too! But most of all, I made new friends. That’s actually the best part of sunday, making new friends. Although church was pretty rocking and Fel’s birthday dinner was fun! Making new friends is at the top of my list of things to do.

Hey friend, don’t you think its amazing the number of emotions you feel in a day? Happiness, sadness, anger, joy, millions and millions of different feelings, all in a matter of hours, minutes even. It really is ‘out of sight, out of mind’ hey? I’ve started on this new series called Lie To Me. Okay, maybe not that new, but its basically psychology and how you read people’s emotions. Its really cool and amazing. Although I’m not as good those in the show, don’t know if it is actually true but pretty cool nonetheless.

I realised today that you never notice things when you first wake up. What I mean is that you never really actually see the things around you. If a person broke into my apartment and took stuff, I wouldn’t even notice they were gone until I got out of bed, and washed up. Okay, maybe I would notice but you get my point yea? Every night I try to remember which way I was sleeping when I fell asleep to see if I wake up in the same position and I never ever remember what’s the first thing I see when I wake up. Although, the first thing I think about is that I want to go back to bed. Weird huh?

Oh yes, here’s a look at the weather over the past few days:

Notice the red. That’s all that’s really important really. Oh yes, and the black boxes below too.

So now, I leave on this note. Goodnight love, I hope you have a good night’s rest. Also, I will write/type to you soon, don’t you worry about that. Probably not tomorrow or this week. I will be rather busy for the next couple of days. Sorry love. We’ll talk soon yea?

Love,

g.

So, its been pretty much an eye opener these past few days. Life hasn’t been fine and dandy, and it still isn’t. I guess I have been getting comfortable the past few weeks. Okay, maybe a month or two. Just curled up in my hole of happiness. Well, my trip to Sydney was fun. I was part of a family, a really noisy family. I think the best part about Sydney was just that, being part of a family and just not needing to worry about how clean the place is, or what to do for dinner. Not to mention the yummy yummy food! Aunty Linda is a really good cook. I saw my Godma too! She looks pretty good, and everything’s gonna be alright. Its really true how God allows certain things to happen to you, but never more than you can handle. Its just the right amount to push you along, to enlarge your heart, to increase your faith, to bring you to a whole new level of praise, to teach you something new. Maybe, like me, you need to let something you’ve been holding on to for a long time go. Be it fear of the future, worry, anxiety, stress or even addictions to things you don’t realise.

What habits do you have? Get rid of it!

This week has been a roller coaster, and tomorrow I’m going to buy a pair of jeans. Yes mom, a pair of jeans! Just one, and it won’t be too expensive, I promise. Oh! I’m applying for jobs tomorrow, pray that I get it! I would love to work at like Grill’d or something. Like somewhere fun where I don’t need to only wear a particular color or have to dress nice. Maybe tomorrow while I’m out I’ll see a place that’s hiring. That’ll be fun. Maybe Big W. Dad, I can do your old job!

I haven’t finished unpacking from Sydney. PlanetUni camp is coming up! I’ve got lab reports due AND a debate coming up. Better get cracking!

Beautiful Women weekend was amazing. My spirit feels as though its about to burst at the seams! Lisa Bevere is amazing. She’s so down to earth and she’s got so many stories to tell! Plus she’s really cool. I would love to spend time with her. Jackie Hall, she’s really funny! Although you’ve got to get used to her humor first of course, but other than that, she’s really cool and so funky with that blond streak of fringe! Pastor Sam is so detailed and she’s so nice and funny.

Oh! Joth, one of the singers, proposed to his girlfriend on Saturday night in front of 2,500 women. He sang a song that he had written to her, and at the end, got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Which she did, of course. But it was really sweet and absolutely magical. Okay, maybe not magical but I’m running out of adjectives.

Okay, school starts again tomorrow and its a power packed weekend next, gotta get ready.
